TRUTH IN THE HEART
Ps.15:1-5 Jehovah, who shall sojourn in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, And speaketh truth in his heart; 3 He that slandereth not with his tongue, Nor doeth evil to his friend, Nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor; 4 In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honoreth them that fear Jehovah; He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not; 5 He that putteth not out his money to interest, Nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
Notice the highlighted phrase. There is another scripture that uses some of those same words.
The heart, the inwards parts and the hidden part are all synonyms for the human spirit.
More could be said, but my purpose is to point out the importance of what we say to ourselves. When we speak anything other than truth to ourselves and within ourselves we are frustrating the will and purpose of God within our lives. It is difficult for the Lord to bless us with the benefits of truth if we are in contradiction to the truth.
Finally consider the words of Jesus, who is the Truth and only speaks truth.
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
